In 2002, William Donohoe was diagnosed with Arnold-Chiari malformation (ACM), a brain anomaly, which put him on medical disability as a FedEx employee.
He flew to Florida where he had his operation and stayed with his sons in the state during his recovery.

Air Med Keeps Hawaii Healthy
Andy Kluger rescued Hawaii Air Ambulance from bankruptcy in 1997 seeing the importance of air medical transport in the islands.
"I was involved already in medical businesses and I saw that it needed funding in Hawaii," Kluger said.
