Hawaii's unemployment rate ranks at the lowest tier in all of United States - an indication of a robust business community in the Islands.

However, such environment also brings forth its downside.  With joblessness rating at 2.3 percent, local businesses struggle to find qualified personnel who can meet their work demands. Business performance would remain stagnant without a valuable workforce to keep activities moving.

But a multinational firm circumvents this trend by helping local clients fill available positions and granting career advancement to Hawaii's workforce.
A $16 billion company, Manpower Inc. offers employers a range of services for their entire employment and business cycle.  Career opportunities, on the other hand, are granted to employees seeking furtherance in their professional life.

Hawaii Pacific Manager of Manpower Inc., and Manpower Professional, which handles degreed candidates to executive level placement, John Scalera said that the company helps businesses find their candidates with a vast array of tools through the Internet, as well as consider thousands of local candidates on file.

"It can be a good opportunity for professionals to advance, be promoted with another company, which enables better pay preventing the brain drain from the islands," John said.

He added that the company focuses on providing qualified candidates for local corporations who are in dire need of qualified employees dealing with Hawaii's lowest unemployment rate in the nation.

"What we do is provide available positions to local qualified candidates when local or national companies provides us with the positions to fill and, we've been doing it longer than of any employment agency in Hawaii, since 1960," John said.  "We embrace dedication and commitment to our Ohana."

Manpower's worldwide network of 4,400 offices in 73 countries and territories enables the company to meet the needs of its 400,000 clients per year, including small and medium size enterprises in all industry sectors, as well as the world's largest multinational corporations.
