Congressman Ed Case has praised the Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii for promoting a stronger business community in the state.

Mr. Case said that the Chamber exercises collective action which effectuates intentions that benefit the broader Hawaiian society.

"We are always going to be much stronger when we act collectively than individually," he said.  "So efforts to influence the course of our government in an area that would be of benefit to the business community; efforts to provide for a broader sense of well-being in our overall community; efforts simply to interact and provide the synergy with which to provide a vibrant business community.  Those are all the goals of the Chamber of Commerce."

Mr. Case said the Chamber's long-running history proves its value to the society.

"It's been around for a long, long time now, well over a century," he said.  "It's been a valuable essential force for the betterment of our Hawaii."

"I believe the business community is good for our Hawaii, good for our country. It provides jobs, it provides a living, and I always tell my colleagues throughout my career, if you don't take care of business first, you're not going to be taking care of people's ability to provide for themselves," he added.

Ed Case has also encouraged Hawaii voters to get involved in the upcoming senate elections.

"The choices that you will be making in this election year will influence the future of our country, so get out and participate."
